Make sure to complete your profile as best you can. You will be asked to record an audio message and upload a copy of your teaching certificate/TEFL certificate so make sure to have this on hand. Palfish will then review your application and confirm if you have been successful.

Palfish offers two opportunities for teachers to make money:

Palfish Official Kids Course:

  • Teach Chinese children from the comfort of your own home.
  • Hourly rate: US$16-US$22
  • Referral bonus: US$45
  • Minimum 3.5 hours per week commitment (during Beijing time peak hours,
    Monday-Sunday 6pm-9pm, and Saturday-Sunday 9am-10pm, Beijing time).
  • Class Structure: one-on-one
  • Age range: 3-12 years

Palfish FreeTalk:

  • For teachers who prefer to teach Adults
  • More flexible than the Official Kids Course – you can set your pay rate and also determine your hours
  • Palfish takes 20% commission on your per minute rate.

IMPORTANT: Teachers can promote themselves to prospective students on the app – the more you engage, post and follow people, the more exposure you will have to students.

The Palfish community is also very strong. When your application is approved, you are automatically added to a large group chat with other teachers. Everyone shares their tips and tricks and you can ask whatever you need.

Requirements:

  • Native English speaker from one of the following countries: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand.
  • TEFL/TESOL certificate
  • No degree or previous experience required!
