Dalian

Dalian is a fairly young city by Chinese standards and is now considered a cultural, economic, and trading hub of Northeast China.

With a huge amount of international companies set up here, Dalian is also a favourite tourist destination for both Chinese and foreigners alike. Many of our teachers living in Dalian tell us how nice it is to have access to beaches combined with great hiking trails in nearby mountains. They have also emailed us about the various festivals that happen in Dalian including the International Fashion Festival, International Beer Festival. Like most of our featured cities, there is an exciting nightlife scene and a vast expatriate population ready to welcome you with open arms. For teachers who want to travel and explore, Dalian can be a great base for that. You can get a short one hour flight to Seoul, Korea or nearby Tokyo or you may want to explore more of northern China, especially cities like Harbin, Shenyang and Inner Mongolia, or even all the way up to Russia!
